PO Box. 9768 - New Iberia, LA 70562

The Association’s President and Board Members invites everyone to “Come join us for the sweetest festival in the state of Louisiana – the 73rd Sugar Cane Festival always held in New Iberia,” and to sweeten their weekend in this city full of historic charm and top-notch entertainment such as Wayne Toups, The Chee Wheez, Debbie Deb, Spank The Monkey, and many more local variety and zydeco bands.  “Everyone is excited to be part of the Festival and we feel the people of Iberia Parish and the sugar cane industry are fulfilling their roles as supporters,” says Breaux. “Welcome to the festival!”

Welcome to the 2014 Louisiana Sugar Cane Festival & Fair held Sept. 24-28 in New Iberia. The Louisiana Sugar Cane Festival Association extends a heartfelt invitation to everyone to join in this fun-filled five day event honoring Louisiana’s prestigious sugar cane industry. This year’s festival marks 73 years of celebrating sugar.

Association President Jessie Breaux says he is pleased with the support the community has given the Festival, day in and day out. “All is good and moving forward in a positive direction. It will be a great and sweet festival.”

The Board Members and Volunteers who work tirelessly for the Festival Association are commended for their efforts in putting together another great festival, full of exciting events and displays that contribute to the Sugar Cane Festival being one of this State’s premier harvest festivals. These hardworking volunteers’ love for their community, loyalty to the festival and experience in the industry are the reason we can happily say “Hi Sugar!” during the last full weekend in September.

The Louisiana Sugar Cane Festival was created to honor the sugar cane producers and processors in recognition of the benefits of the sugar industry and how it affects Louisiana and the nation. The festival celebrates the contributions of the sugar industry in 23 sugar producing parishes, which includes approximately 27,000 hard working people, with an economic impact of about $3 billion.

Held in New Iberia, the Festival celebrates the cane growers, mill operators and others in the industry with ceremonies, parties, parades, royalty, exhibits and dancing in the streets.
